Say Cheese!

I'm really not sure where Cooper gets his love for being such a cheeseball when he is getting is picture taken, but he is always asking me to take his picture.

Fiesta Days FIESTA!

Every year on the 24th of July we host a party with both of our families to celebrate Fiesta Days and watch the fireworks from our backyard. Because we live so close to the ballparks, we have a great view of the fireworks. Thanks to Cooper's love of Dora and Diego, he learned what a FIESTA was and decided we needed to have one. So this year we had a fiesta with Mexican food, music and a pinata. There are a ton of pictures, but I didn't want to forget about any of the fun stuff we did that night.

Micailey was the one who broke the "big kid" pinata. Sorry Oliver and Dallas! Maybe next year you will get a turn before it breaks!

Cooper thought it was awesome that he could hit something without getting in trouble!

Fiesta Days Parade!

This summer Cooper has learned the joy of WATCHING a parade rather than being IN the parade. He thinks catching the candy is the coolest thing ever! I didn't take very many pictures, but here are a few from the SF Fiesta Days Parade.

Yee Haw!

Before this summer, I had not ever been to a real rodeo (unless you count the PG rodeo once when I was a kid. I was so bored that all I remember is walking around and eating strawberries) So this summer we really found our inner cowboy and cowgirl. We attended not only the Nephi Rodeo, but the Spanish Fork Rodeo as well. We had a fantastic time at both and will be back next year!

We had an extra ticket so we invited Cooper's cousin Micailey to go with us. It was her first rodeo too. I am pretty sure she has just as much fun as we did.

Jumpin' Jacks

We spent an afternoon at Jumpin' Jacks with a few of Cooper's cousins. He absolutely LOVED it!

Cooper loved the big boat, but was too much of a wimp to go on the really big one.

Nothing To Wear!

It amazes me how often I say "I have nothing to wear" and give up trying to find something cute to wear. This usually happens on Sundays before church, but when I cleaned out my closets, I realized that I really do have plenty to wear, I probably just couldn't find it in my disaster of a closet.

Summertime Update

I am finally getting around to catching up on this blog. I really don't know what I do with all of my time, but it sure goes by fast!

Things are going great for our family. Derek is still working 10 hour days in Salt Lake, but doesn't seem to mind it. We really hope that Gov. Herbert won't change them back to 8 hour days. I don't know what I would do if he wasn't home on Fridays.

Cooper is still as fun and cute as ever. He says the funniest things and is always amazing me with his incredible memory. He will remind me of things that happened such a long time ago. I don't know how he does it. He loves playing with his friends and cousins. We are very lucky to live near such wonderful friends and family.

My pregnancy is still going well. I have my ultrasound appointment in 2 weeks on July 29th. I will be shocked if it isn't a boy. Guess time will tell! :) A girl would be fun, but a boy would make getting things ready a lot easier. Based on the heartbeat, the doctor said it was "definitely in the boy range". He was right with Cooper, so like I said, I'll be shocked if it is a girl. I'll keep ya'll posted! I started feeling the baby move a few days ago and I had really forgotten how cool it is. Sometimes I feel like this is my first baby all over again because it has been so long!

I guess that is about all for now. Hopefully I'll have more updates soon!

YeeHaw!

We were very lucky to be hooked up with basically the best seats in the house for the Ute Stampede Rodeo in Nephi last Saturday. We were front and center in box seats for our first rodeo together. We were not quite sure what to expect, but overall, we had a great time. There were some crazy events that made me wonder why in the world anyone would want to participate in this sport. It was sure a lot of fun to watch though. We are going to be rodeo experts this summer. We already have our tickets for the Fiesta Days rodeo and hopefully we will have as much fun there as we did in Nephi.

Play Ball!

If it is Friday night, you will find us at the ballparks. Derek has played softball with his brothers as long as I have known him. Some of our first memories together are from the ballpark. One of the first games I went to, he had a couple other girls there watching him. He actually ditched me to go walk them out. I was SO offended! Guess things worked out OK in the end. : ) I love this time of year and being able to spend time with his family and watch my cute boy play ball. His team is awesome this year! It has been a fun season!

Happy 4th of July!

We had a fun time celebrating the 4th of July together. On the 3rd, Derek's family has an annual "camp out" in his mom and dad's backyard. Most years, we are wimps and just sleep at home and come back in the morning. This year, we decided it would be fun to sleep in a tent with Cooper. (Anyone who knows us very well will tell you this is the ONLY time Cooper will be sleeping in a tent this year. We are NOT campers!) We had a lot of fun with his family and we all decided to call it a night around 1:00 AM. We made it until about 2:00 when one of their neighbors dogs started barking, and barking, and barking.... so we gave in and slept inside. Those that stayed outside all night said the dog never stopped barking. It was a long night to say the least. Unfortunately, I didn't take and pictures of the camp out. Woops!
***
The evening of the 4th we always celebrate with my family by watching the firework "contraption" that my brothers build. (see pictures below!) I really didn't know that MOST people light fireworks one at a time. As long as I've known, we have had these extravagant contraptions to watch and all of the fireworks are connected.

Update...

Things have been a little crazy the past several weeks. Life has finally slowed down so I thought I should catch up on our blog. I'm not one to write much, so I'll let most of the pictures speak for themselves.

Things are going really well for us. We are enjoying our summer and are looking forward to the 4th of July holiday this weekend. So far everything is going well with the baby. I have my 16 week appointment tomorrow and we should find out what we are having the end of July. I have been so busy that it hasn't really hit me yet that we are having another baby. I'm sure as soon as we know if it is a boy or a girl (although I would be you $100 it is a boy) it will seem much more real.

So here is an update of what we have been up to lately. Hopefully I'll be better to post more often!

Enjoy!
