An Update! Shocking, I know!

It seems like I am always starting my blog posts talking about what a pathetic blogger I am. I have faced the reality that if I want any part of my boys lives documented, I better get my tail-end in gear and get posting. (Beacause we all know that I am certainly never going to get a real scrapbook done!) They are growing up so fast and I don't want to forget anything. So, here is my humble attempt of catching up.

First, of course, we have a new baby! I guess 3 months isn't considered new anymore, but sometimes I wondered where in the world this baby came from that is attached to my side 24/7. Looking back, my pregnancy and the past 3 months have gone by way too fast. I am so thankful that I am not pregnant and miserable anymore, but I loved having a tiny baby. Anyone who has seen Jack lately knows that he is definitely NOT a tiny baby anymore. That lasted about 3 days and then the fat rolls and double chin appeared. He has those cheeks that you just can help but kiss! He is a great baby. He sleeps at least 6 hours every night, but our record is 10 hours. I don't have to feel like a walking, emotional, zombie anymore because of feeling sleep deprived. Jack is a really mellow, and sweet kid, who loves to watch his big brother, giggle at his daddy, and spit-up on his mommy.

Cooper is doing great with the changes. He is a wonderful big brother to Jack and is a great helper to me. He cannot wait for it to get warm so he can go golfing with his daddy. He loves preschool and playing with his friends. His favorite primary songs are "I love to see the temple" and "I am a child of God". He sings them all day, everyday. He is growing up and teaching us so many things. He is so sweet to remind us to say our prayers everyday and his favorite thing in the world is family home evening.

Derek and I are doing well. Not a lot has changed for us lately. I was released from YW in our ward a few months ago. I really miss the girls! I don't think I really appreciated what a perfect calling I had until I was released. I'm thankful for the opportunity I had. This Sunday, I was just put in as a teacher for the 7-8 year olds, and on the Enrichment Committee. It should be a good change for me, and hopefully I enjoy both of them.

We took a quick, last minute, trip to St. George last weekend and had a lot of fun together and with my sister's family. It was nice to get away, even though it rained on us. We have several really fun trips planned this year that I am VERY excited about. We are going to Denver to visit Derek's brother, Jordan, and his family in May, to St. George for the annual Nelson Family Shakespeare trip in July, to Washington DC with Derek in August, and my favorite, DISNEYLAND in November. (I hope I can make it that long, I'm DYING to go there!!!)

I have learned that is it much easier to stay at home with the kids, so we hang out and don't leave the house most days. Although I thought I was going to quit my job, I ended up keeping it and I've been enjoying staying connected to the outside world through the campaign. We are gearing up for a really busy few months and I love that I get paid to do something that I truly love. I feel so blessed!

Wow! If anyone actually kept reading past the first paragraph, kuddos to you , and I'm sorry to be so boring. Life is good, I'm thankful for everything I have been blessed with, and hopefully there will be another blog post sooner rather than later.
