Kitchen Nightmare

Last December when I went into our crawl space to pull our out Christmas tree, I was greeted with a large puddle of water and a steady drip coming through the ceiling. At first I thought we had a broken pipe that needed to get fixed, but we quickly learned the problem was much worse than that. We had installed a new dishwasher about 6 months previous and we discovered that it has been leaking the entire time. So instead of setting up our tree and enjoying the holidays, we had to tear our kitchen and living room apart for a month. It was a challenging time to take care of kids without a kitchen, but we survived.

This is what the kitchen looked like when we first bought the house.
(Minus the stenciled ivy that we immediately painted over!)
A couple of years ago we we adventurous and decided to paint the cabinets white and added granite counter tops.

This is what our kitchen looks like now.

I love how it turned out and I hope that we NEVER have to go through the nightmare of a flood again!
